It's that time of year when summer sadly comes to an end and we jump right into fall. The costume hunting and spooky vibes are now all around Los Angeles. If you're looking for fun Halloween events to do this October in LA, I've got you covered. Let's make the most of this month with my top 8 best Halloween events in La to do this October.

Fridays through Sundays in October at 7pm

This will be the eleventh Los Angeles Haunted Hayride in Griffith Park. You will jump on board for a ride through the creepy Old Zoo area (abandoned after a 1926 flood and mostly closed off), transformed for Halloween with fog, sound effects, and ambience. Throughout the ride, actors dressed as monsters will pop out to scare you. In 2019, everything has been transformed with new attractions, a must see!

Now - October 31st

It's time to get spooky at Disneyland for Halloween! At this time of the year, the park transforms into a wonderland with characters in costume with themes drawn from Nightmare Before Christmas and other properties.

Now - November 3

There's no where to hide and the screams never die! Go see the zombies and ghouls as they take over Six Flags Magic Mountain for Fright Fest. At the annual fest, you can enjoy roller coaster rides, scare zones, and themed haunted mazes throughout the park. This year the park will have Exile Hill with the dead looking for new souls, the entryway to Hell, Demon’s Door, and more!

Now – November 3rd

Every year, Universal Studios brings the most intense event to SoCal. This Halloween is said to be the biggest one with more mazes than ever. Environments based on Stranger Things, Ghostbusters, and a maze for Jordan Peele’s US will be featured.

Now - Nov. 2nd

Where nightmares never end! The Knott’s Scary Farm is the largest and spookiest Halloween activity in Southern California. The park features 30 attractions, including roller coasters and carnival-style rides, magic shows, art installations, and tons of mazes and environments, all populated by a cast of 1,000 costumed characters. This year, they are bringing back CarnEVIL and Shadowlands, and a new Wax Works, The Curse of Calico and more.

October 10-November 3, 5:30 to 10:30 p.m

Fun for families or adults, Pumpkin Nights includes more than 3,000 lit pumpkins, fire dancers, movie screenings, and a pirate ship. The Pomona Fairpelx provides an Instagram-worthy Halloween event experience as you stroll through pumpkin land.

October 31st

Walk around the streets in costume on Santa Monica Boulevard from Doheny Drive to La Cienega Boulevard on Halloween night. There will be food trucks, music, dancing and fun. There are plenty of bars on the way to stop in and get the party started!
