The Halal Guys Launches Meatless Gyro with Dairy-Free Tzatziki

I stopped by The Halal Guys restaurant in Koreatown last week to taste the new meatless gyro. Since moving to LA, I've been surrounded by and tried countless vegan food options. This meatless gyro has been one of my favorites so far. It's so tasty and I'm not even vegan!

Can you believe the meatless gyro is only 150 calories with no cholesterol and 21 grams of protein per serving?!? Wow! It's so perfect for my spring break diet :)

The Halal Guys started as just a NYC food truck in 1990 to becoming the largest American halal street food concept in the world. This year, The Halal Guys expanded the menu to add vegan gyro options.

This new plant-based option is made with soy-free meatless gyro, pea protein, brown rice, coconut oil, The Halal Guys’ Spice mix, beets, mushrooms and paprika. You can choose to order the meatless gyro as a wrap or as a platter.

The restaurant also released a vegan tzatziki sauce (aquafaba base) for topping and eggplant hummus. The eggplant hummus is vegan and gluten-free, made with chickpeas, mixed with tahini sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, and spices served with pita chips on the side.
